BEATRIZ AND MÁRIO PIMENTA CAMARGO COLLECTION: LUSO-BRAZILIAN ART

1991 Exposições Coleções

Expomus presented the largest collection ever assembled of Brazilian art on the international scene, by taking the Beatriz and Mário Pimenta Camargo Collection: Luso-Brazilian Art to the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in Lisbon, Portugal.

Considered one of the most interesting syntheses of Brazilian culture, this collection contains over 4,000 items, including furniture, goldsmithery objects, porcelains, paintings and sculptures. It is one of the most complete, with extraordinary iconographic and cartographic pieces as well as books and rare documents, offering an approximation of the range of artistic production for the sixteenth to twentieth centuries.
