The result of a civil society initiative cherished for almost two decades, the Jewish Museum of S\u00e3o Paulo<\/a> (MUJ) opened its doors in November 2021 aiming to cultivate the various expressions, histories, memories, traditions and values of Jewish culture, in dialogue with the Brazilian context, with the present time and with the aspirations of its different audiences. Expomus was responsible for the museological coordination of the museum’s implementation. <\/p>\n\n

Supported by a cultural and participatory program that intertwines the Jewish experience with Brazilian culture and contemporary art, MUJ was born committed to the coexistence between the various social groups and identities, to the fight against intolerance and prejudice, to education and intergenerational transmission, values at once universal and Jewish. The museum is housed in the building of the old Beth-El temple, in the central region of S\u00e3o Paulo, listed by the municipal heritage. <\/p>\n\n
