The exhibition with about 90 works from the Collection of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, from Madrid, highlights Picasso’s influence on Spanish modern art and his relationship with masters of this strand, such as Gris, Miró, Dalí, Domínguez and Tàpies, among other artists present in the show. The exhibition referred to Picasso’s journey as an artist and as a myth, until he reached the realization of Guernica, and his contributions to a notion of modernity focused on the present time.

Presented at CCBB São Paulo, where it received more than 235,000 people, and ccbb Rio de Janeiro, with 620,000 visitors, Picasso and Spanish Modernity was the most visited exhibition in the world among post-impressionist and modern art in 2015, according to the magazine’s ranking The ArtNewspaper.
